|  | Roger has specialised in commercial law since becoming a partner in 1971. He has been an adviser to many companies and consults on a wide range of activities including mergers, reconstructions, stock-exchange listings, overseas transactions, and property matters.
He was on the New Zealand Law Society Committee that made submissions to the Government on the Companies Act 1993, and also has specialist knowledge in advising on appropriate ownership structures for substantial asset holders, including arrangements in overseas jurisdictions.
Roger enjoys an intellectual challenge, and while he tends to specialise in commercial law relating to large companies, he also has many farming clients. Many new clients are personal referrals, which Roger puts down to the way he sees Gallaway Cook Allan doing business.
"We're competent, we have integrity, and our costs are reasonable. We pride ourselves on the job we do, and that often comes before other factors," he says. "We're not in this just for what we can get out of it. We get the job done and do it right first time."
Outside of work, Roger follows rugby, cricket, and golf. He used to play and referee rugby, and still plays golf and tennis.
